Shorcuts for windows

This time I  am going to talk about the shortcuts you can use in Windows. I usually prefer using keyboard shortcuts rather than using the mouse to do all stuffs. So, this guide is supposed to help people who are looking for the keyboard shortcuts.

Here in this blog Win = the windows key on your keyboards(it usually as at bottom left part of keyboard, between Ctrl key and Alt Key.)

Ok, here are the list of the shortcuts keys you can use.

  • CTRL + C = copy
  • CTRL + X = cut
  • CTRL + V = paste
  • Ctrl + A = Select All
  • Alt + F4 = Close a window
  • Alt + (Shift) + Tab = .Switch or select different window
  • Win + R = Run command
  • Alt +  Space + X = Maximize Windows
  • Ctrl + Shift + Esc or Ctrl + Alt + Del = Task Manager
  • Win + Break = System Properties
  • Windows key + F = Search
  • Windows key + D = Hide/Display all windows




The key with this symbol = Shortcut to right click.

  •  Alt + Esc = Switch between running application or windows.
  •  Alt + [ a letter] = Select from menu by underlined letter.
  •  Ctrl + Esc  or Win = Open Program menu
  • Ctrl + F4 = Close current window( may not work with some applications)
  •  Ctrl + Left Arrow or Right arrow = Move cursor to one word right or left
  •  Win + M = Minimize all open windows.
  • Shift + Win + M = Undo Minimize all open Windows
  • Ctrl + Z = Undo Previous action
  • F1 = Open Help Window
  •  End = Display the bottom of the current Window.
  • Home = Display the top of current window.
  •  Del = move an item to recycle bin
  • Shift + Del = Delete something permanently without sending to recycle bin. 
  • F3 = Search for Files and folders
  •  Win + D = Show Desktop
  •  Win + E  = Open My Computer
  •  F2 = Rename Selected Item
Now here are the shortcuts you can type in the Run command box to open up different programs.

msconfig                         = Microsoft Configuration Utility
Regedit                           = Registry Editor
Winword                        = Microsoft Word
Excel                              =Microsoft Excel
Powerpnt                       = Microsoft Powerpoint
Mspaint                          = Paint
Cmd                              = Ms Dos or Command Prompt
DxDiag                          = DirectX Manager
Notepad                        = Notepad
WordPad                      = Wordpad
Calc                              = Calculator
Cleanmgr                      = Disk Clean Up
rstrui                             = System Restore
msinfo32                       = System Information
Devmgmt                      = Device manager
iexplorer.exe                 = Internet Explorer
Firefox.exe                    = Firefox
explorer.exe                  = windows explorer
                

If you also want to open up the windows folder like Temp folder or My Computer Folder or Control panal then just type those folder names in run command and most likely it will open up the window for you.
