10. Avira Premium AntiVirus: I have put this antivirus in the number 10 position because of several reasons. It is indeed a good antivirus, that is why it is in the top ten position. So, the drawback of this antivirus is that it may not work on windows 7. Since many user have switched to windows seven now, the company should be making another version of this software to match up the compatibility with all the windows now. The average market price for this antivirus is $26.95, which I think is like a average antivirus price. But it have good habit of detecting the malwares(antivirus, spywares, adwares and so on). It can detect well more than 93% of the malwares. I will rate this antivirus as 7.8 out of 10.

9. Trend Micro Antivirus: This is another good antivirus. The downside I found about this anti-virus is that it does not have all the certification required for an anti virus to have. And it is not supported in windows XP 64 bit edition and windows 2000. So, same kind of problem like the previous one but it have more malware detection capability which is slightly above 94%. It average market price value is $39.95 which I think is slightly high. But that much of the money is worth the security. 7.9 / 10

8. F - Secure AntiVirus: F-Secure is also very good at detection of the antiviruses. It have more features like internet security and more web protection than other previous antiviruses. It have very less number of additional features like adjustable security levels, user profiles and self defense.The scope of protection for this anti-virus is impressive but I think there are other anti-virus that are have better scope of protection. You may find this anti-virus at something like $39.99 on the market. And it also doesnot work on XP 64 bit version of windows and windows 2000. I will give this anti-virus about 8.1 / 10

7. G - Data Anti-virus: The downside of this anti-virus is that it does not check the spams and cannot auto detect the USB drive. This is also like the same as F - Secure in additional feature side, where both of them does not have a lot of those. The scope of protection for this anti-virus in very good. And you can find this anti-virus at $24.95, which I think is a very good price. There are only few good antivirus which are as cheap as it is. And the only windows platform it does not work is windows 2000. It works in both 32 bit and 64 bit of windows XP, Vista and 7. I rate this to be 8.3/10

6.  AVG Anti-Virus: This is pretty popular anti-virus. I lot of people I see have the free version of this anti-virus. But here remember that I am not talking about the free version of this antivirus. It is the premium version of it. I do not prefer to have the free version of this anti-virus for few reason. So, here I am not talking about it. So, about the premium version of AVG anti-virus. This version of the this antivirus is very good one. It have more additional features than the previous anti-viruses. It is also very good at detecting the viruses.Updates frequently. And it also have a very good scope of protection. It is supported in all windows system. The downside of this anti-virus is that it does not have the spam protection, network security and few other ignorable features. You may find this version of AVG Anti-Virus at about $34.99 on the market. I will rate this as 8.5 / 10.

5.  ESET Nod32 Anti-Virus: Well, this Anti-Virus is my personal favorite. I have using this anti-virus for 3 years now. It gives me all the protection I need from the malwares. The virus detection rate for this antivirus is about 97.3%. You can get this in two type of security program. One is just the anti-virus and the other is smart Security,  which have better protection from internet. The downside of this program is that, it does not protect you from the hackers and spams. But considering all other things included in this program, I think it is very good anti-virus package. You may find this anti-virus at about $39.99 on the market, which is above average price but still it is really protective. And the other thing is about this anti-virus is that I have used it in all windows platforms and a lot of kind of processors. It even works well enough with Pentium III computers. So, I will rate this anti-virus as 8.9 / 10

Kaspersky Anti-Virus: Some people may not agree with this anti-virus being at this number(might think it is better than being at number 4), but I think that this is the best position for this anti-virus. Let me talk about the downside of this anti-virus first. The first thing I think is that it is pretty expensive than any other anti-virus you would buy. It would cost you something like $59.95. And other thing is that, if you have some old computer then the performance of your computer will not be as good as it was before. It degrades. It will more of a burden to the old computers. But for all other things this anti-virus is very good one. It have a lot of additional features and everything needed for an anti-virus software. And It can detect almost every malwares in your computer. It can detect upto 99.3% of the malwares in your computer. I will rate this as 9.3 / 10.

3. Norton Anti-virus: This is also another one of the most popular and most oldest anti-virus of all. The performance of the this product during 2006 and 2007 was not so good. I didn't liked this anti-virus at all those days. But it have done a lot better. This is fast and effective. The downside is that it is not compatible to 64 bit of windows xp and windows 2000. It can detect viruses well over 98% and also have all the additional features required for the computer protection. You can find this at average price of $39.99 on the market. I rate this as 9.4 / 10

It also have very high rate of virus detection capability of about 99%. And this is the only one anti-virus on this list that can also detect the spams and clean them for you. 1.  BitDefender Anti-Virus: This anti-virus have been claiming the number one position among the all anti-virus list for a long time now. It is completely reliable. It also detects all kind of malwares including the spywares at very impressive rate of 99.3% and have good descent price of $24.95. The downside for this as I can see is that it does not work on windows 2000 and it doesnot have the network security system in it. But if you are just looking for an antivirus software then I think this should be the best choice of all. I will rate this to be 9.8 / 10.
